In short
Edgelle does not collect, transmit or sell any data. The app runs entirely on your PC, with no Edgelle account and no telemetry. Only the licence purchase goes through the Microsoft Store.
Your notes
Each note is a plain Markdown file saved in a folder on your PC, which you can choose. A local index is used for search. None of this is sent, neither to us nor to anyone else.
Window context
To bring a note back in the right place, Edgelle reads, locally, the name of the app in the foreground, its window title, the address of the page or the open folder. This information is only used to compare it with your anchored notes; it stays on your PC and is never transmitted.
Captures and clipboard
An area or text capture only happens when you trigger it. The captured image or text is saved with the note, on your PC. The clipboard’s content is restored after a text capture.
Sync
Edgelle has no server. If you choose a synced folder (OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive…), that service copies your files, under your account and according to its own terms.
Importing Windows Sticky Notes
When you ask for it, Edgelle reads a copy of the Sticky Notes database to import its notes. The original database is never modified.
Licence purchase
Edgelle is free for up to 10 notes. Beyond that, the licence is bought in the Microsoft Store, with your Microsoft account. Payment is handled by Microsoft, under its privacy statement. We receive neither your name, nor your email address, nor your payment details: Microsoft only sends us anonymous, aggregated sales statistics.
To know whether the licence has been bought, Edgelle asks the Windows Microsoft Store, on your PC, and nothing from your notes is transmitted. The note count and the gift code are checked on your PC, without sending anything.
